Skating at the Avenue

Teens desiring to skateboard or rollerblade will need to fill out an Avenue membership application and attend an orientation session. Skating events are only open to teens in grades 6 through 12. The application process includes a medical release and liability waiver that must be filled out by a parent in our presence or notarized. Skaters must check in upon arrival.

  • No bikes are allowed on Saturday Avenue event nights because of safety and space.
  • Violation of the skating rules is subject to "time out" from skating up to and including being sent home.
SKATING GUIDELINES:
  • Helmet must be worn and strapped at all times. Violation results in time out from skating. No more than two fingers should fit under the chin and the strap.
  • We strongly recommend the use of knee and elbow pads.
  • No skating in Common Grounds, restrooms, around the basketball court or upstairs in The Loft.
  • No skating on stage, any steps, handrails, the backroom or outside the facility.
  • Use only skateboard equipment provided: yellow ramps, fun box, rails, and steel ramps.
  • No jumping over chairs, furniture or permanent fixtures of The Avenue.
  • Use extreme caution to not ram boards into walls or fixtures or bystanders.
  • Do not throw or break boards as injury may result.
