Here are some things that may help you on your road trip:
  • If you are unsure God is there, ask him to show you that he exists.
  • Read the Bible — start with the New Testament books of John, Acts, and Romans.
  • Talk to people who have a real relationship with God — people who live by Jesus’ teachings and display a desirable life.
  • Question things — be a lover of truth.
  • Ask God-followers why they believe what they believe and how they know their beliefs are true.
  • Write down your questions, especially about what you read in the Bible, and take them to a knowledgeable Christian who respects the fact that you are on a road trip to find God.
  • Keep a journal of your thoughts and feelings during your search.
  • Remember that you don't have to know everything to know something.
  • Act on what you decide.

Matthew chapter 7 verses 7 and 8 say: "Don't bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn't a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we're in.”
